Soccer-Eliminated Cienciano fire coach after two games

LIMA, Feb 10 - Cienciano have fired coach Carlos
Sevilla after their humiliating 5-1 home defeat by Mexican club
Guadalajara in Wednesday's Libertadores Cup match.

Peruvian media said on Thursday the Ecuadorean coach was
fired in the stadium at the end of the first round, second leg
game, his second competitive match in charge.

"We can't suffer this type of humiliation at home," club
president Juvenal Silva told reporters after the 8-2 aggregate
loss.

"In any case, the public were asking for him to leave and we
have to respect the people of Cuzco."

Cienciano, based in the former Inca capital of Cuzco at
3,000 metres above sea level in the Andes, made history in 2003
by winning the Copa Sudamericana, the first time a Peruvian team
had won an international trophy.

Freddy Ternero, the coach in charge at the time, resigned in
December.
