Montana State's Jefferson named player of the week

BOZEMAN -- Montana State junior guard Ja'Ron Jefferson won
the weekly Big Sky Conference player of the week honor for his
performance in the Bobcats' win over Montana on Saturday.

Jefferson, a 6-foot guard from Oklahoma, City, Okla., matched a
career-high with 25 points and hit the game-winning 3-pointer with
less than a second remaining on the clock in the Bobcats' 62-60
win.

Jefferson played 36 minutes and tied a career high with five
steals. He added four rebounds, made all seven of his free throws,
had one blocked shot and hit 4-of-5 effort from 3-point range.
Jefferson scored 10 of Montana State's last 13 points. Jefferson
also held Montana's leading scorer, Kevin Criswell, to just nine
points, his lowest in the last six games.

Jefferson is averaging 12 points and 1.62 steals per game this
season. He ranks first in the league in 3-point shooting and fourth
in free-throw percentage.
