Dayton 71, Duquesne 60

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Norman Plummer and Brian Roberts scored 12
points each and Trent Meacham added 11 as Dayton beat Duquesne
71-60 on Saturday.

The Flyers outrebounded the Dukes 46-34 and hit 25 of 34 free
throws to win their third in a row. Dayton suffered a
double-overtime home loss to the Dukes on Jan. 5.

Dayton (9-5, 2-1 Atlantic 10) led 35-22 at halftime, taking
advantage of a slow start by Duquesne. The Dukes shot 25.9 from the
field in the first half.

Duquesne (4-13, 1-3), which has lost all three of its games
since playing Dayton, twice cut into the Flyers' lead in the second
half.

The Dukes went on a 10-2 run to close 49-43 with 10:21 remaining
and the score was 57-51 with 3:43 left.

But Dayton pushed the lead back to double digits on a 3-point
shot by Marques Bennett, his first attempt of the game, giving the
Flyers a 64-54 lead with 1:35 remaining.

Kieron Achara led Duquesne with 16 points. Jack Higgins scored
10.
