SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Minnesota Duluth jumped to a 9-point
lead in the first 3½ minutes and blew past Augustana 71-51 Friday.
John Emerson scored 16 points and Sean Seaman had 12 for Duluth
(9-9, 1-2 NCC).
Augustana (7-11, 0-3 NCC) shot only 21 percent in the first half
and trailed by 17 points at halftime. Ian Thomas led the Vikings in
scoring with nine points.
Emerson and Seaman had back-to-back 3-point shots that put the
Bulldogs ahead 19-6 with 11:56 left in the first half. Augustana
never cut the deficit to fewer than 10 points after that.
Duluth shot 48 percent in the first half and 44 percent for the
game. Augustana finished with a 30 percent shooting average.
