Randolph kept out of Portland lineup

NEW ORLEANS -- Portland Trail Blazers leading scorer Zach
Randolph did not dress for Friday night's game against the New
Orleans Hornets.

Blazers officials said Randolph had a bone contusion in his
right knee -- an injury sustained in the second quarter of
Portland's loss on Wednesday night at Washington.

Randolph has been averaging 20.2 points and 10.2 rebounds.

The knee has been bothering Randolph recently, causing him to
miss a game against Golden State on New Year's Day.

Randolph's injury further depleted a Portland frontcourt already
missing Shareef Abdur-Rahim (hyperextended right elbow) and Darius
Miles (bruised left knee).

James Thomas, playing in his fourth NBA game on a 10-day
contract, started in Randolph's place.
