Madrid makes push for hosting 2012 Olympics

MADRID - The campaign for the Madrid 2012 Olympic bid
has launched a promotional campaign to prove the city's
readiness to host the Games.

The campaign, which uses the slogan "Ready for You," will
incorporate 45,000 posters and 280,000 stickers posted
throughout the city.

"It is a transparent motto, which displays the collective
efforts of this city and all of Spain to present the best
possible project," Madrid's Lord Mayor Alberto Ruiz Gallardon
said.

"They are three words which offer the answer to all the needs
that are presented by the IOC in order to organize the Games."

On July 6, the host city will be chosen for the 2012 Games from
a pool of London, Paris, New York, Moscow and Madrid. The
Spanish city of Barcelona hosted the 1992 Games.

Madrid says it has around 70 percent of the infrastructure for
the Games already in place and is on the verge of opening a new
airport terminal, giving the city's Barajas Airport the capacity
to welcome 70 million travelers a year.

"We should not hide, but show what we have got," Gallardon said.
