Former Ohio coach joins Air Force as defensive coordinator

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- Former Ohio coach Brian Knorr returned to
Air Force on Wednesday as defensive coordinator.

The former Falcons quarterback was fired Nov. 18 after four seasons as the
Bobcats' coach. He was 11-35 at Ohio, including a 4-7 mark last year.

"We're so excited to have Brian return home and join our staff," head
coach Fisher DeBerry said. "He was a fine player for us. He'll bring great
enthusiasm, energy and knowledge to our staff."

Knorr replaces Vic Shealy, who left Air Force in December to become
defensive coordinator at UNLV.

In other changes, Dean Campbell will move from running backs coach to the
defensive secondary, Tim Horton will move from wide receiver coach to running
backs, and Tom Miller will coach special teams, including kickers. Former
kickers coach Lt. Col. Jeff Hays, is retiring from the military later this
month.
