Jaguars fire offensive coordinator Musgrave

JACKSONVILLE, Florida -- Two days after being
eliminated from playoff contention, the Jacksonville Jaguars
fired offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave.

The move was expected after the Jaguars finished last in the AFC
and 29th overall in the NFL in scoring with 261 points.

Jacksonville finished 9-7 under second-year coach Jack Del Rio,
but was officially eliminated from the postseason race when
Denver beat Indianapolis, 33-14 on the final Sunday of the
regular season.

But the Jaguars' playoff hopes were effectively ended by the
Houston Texans, who beat Jacksonville twice by scores of 20-6
and 21-0.

Musgrave was the offensive coordinator for two years at the
University of Virginia before joining Del Rio in Jacksonville in
2003. Musgrave also worked as an assistant with the
Philadelphia Eagles and Carolina Panthers.
