LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Two reeling clubs meet Wednesday when
the Utah Jazz visit the Staples Center for a matchup with the
Los Angeles Clippers.
Both teams got off to promising starts but have since struggled
to regain the form that brought early season success.
The Jazz raced to a 6-1 start but have since lost 16 of 21
games, including setbacks in five of their last six. Following
All-Star forward Andrei Kirilenko being placed on the injured
list November 30, Utah has gone 3-11.
On Monday, Utah fell to Seattle, 98-88, at the Delta Center.
Matt Harpring scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Carlos Boozer added 16 and 10 but committed eight turnovers.
After starting the season 11-7 - its best start since the
1992-93 season - Los Angeles has lost seven of its last eight
games.
Corey Maggette scored 14 points but shot just 3-of-15 from the
floor as the Clippers lost at Memphis on Monday, 96-76. Elton
Brand also struggled from the floor, making just 1-of-7 shots
from the field. Chris Wilcox came off the bench to score 12
points.
In the first meeting this season, Utah edged Los Angeles, 93-91,
to improve to 37-8 against the Clippers since the 1993-94
season.
