HANOVER, N.H. (AP) -- Khara Smith had 18 points and 16 rebounds to lead DePaul (No. 18 ESPN/USA Today, No. 19 AP) over Valparaiso 75-49 on Wednesday in the opening game of Dartmouth's holiday tournament. Jenna Rubino added 16 points -- including four 3s -- for DePaul (9-2). Betsy Rietema led Valparaiso (5-5) with 13 points. The Blue Demons took a 38-18 halftime lead behind 13 points by Smith. Overall, she made 7-of-10 shots and had four assists and two steals. The Commodores shot only 26.7 percent in the first half, while DePaul made 47.1 percent. DePaul, which also got 13 points from Jarietta Benton, plays the winner of the Dartmouth-Richmond matchup in Thursday's championship game. Valparaiso takes on the loser in the consolation game of the Blue Sky Restaurant Group Classic.
