Jones wins PBA Denver Open

LAKEWOOD, Colorado - Tommy Jones on Sunday defeated
Brian Voss in the PBA Denver Open final, 224-179, to become the
first player to win multiple titles this season.

Jones, who won his first title at the 2004 Dydo Drinco Japan Cup
in September, took advantage of open frames by Voss in the
fourth and seventh frames, clinching the win with a strike in
the ninth.

Jones earned $40,000 and a one-year PBA Tour exemption.

"I bowled pretty good and stayed on top of the changes all
week," said Jones, who failed to win a title in his first four
seasons on Tour. "This is my dream and what I grew up doing."

Jones beat Paul Fleming in the first semifinal, 234-200, while
Voss defeated Norm Duke, 265-222, in the penultimate round.

Voss won $20,000 and Fleming and Duke earned $10,000 apiece.

The Tour continues next week with the PBA Earl Anthony Medford
Classic at Lava Lanes in Medford, Oregon.
