MIAMI - Miami Heat forward Malik Allen, on the injured
list since November 23 with back spasms, underwent surgery
Wednesday morning.
An hour-long micro discectomy was performed by Dr. Joe Traina at
South Miami Hospital. Allen is expected to be sidelined six to
eight weeks.
Allen has played in 10 games this season, averaging 7.1 points
and 4.3 rebounds. The back spasms forced him to miss Miami's
game against Philadelphia on November 21.
