Soccer-Slovenia call midfielder Sukalo into squad

LJUBLJANA, Aug 26 - Midfielder Goran Sukalo has
been called into Slovenia's 18-man squad for next month's World
Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Scotland.

Manager Brane Oblak stuck mainly with the players who drew
1-1 with Serbia and Montenegro in his first match in charge last
week.

"There are no big changes in the squad. (Goran) Sukalo is
new, to make the team taller if our opponents play closed game,"
Oblak told reporters.

Four players who made their debuts against Serbia and
Montenegro, 19-year-old striker Zlatko Dedic, defender Branko
Ilic and midfielders Andrej Komac and Jalen Pokorn, have
retained their places in the squad.

Slovenia also face Italy, Norway and Belarus in European
World Cup qualifying Group Five.

Goalkeepers: Borut Mavric (Greuther Furth, Germany), Samir
Handanovic (Domzale)
Defenders: Bostjan Cesar (Olimpija), Branko Ilic (Olimpija),
Aleksander Knavs (VfL Bochum, Germany), Ales Kokot (Nova
Gorica), Matej Mavric (Molde, Norway), Almir Tanjic
(Ajdovscina).

Midfielders: Nastja Ceh (Club Bruges, Belgium), Amir Karic
(Torpedo-Metallurg Moscow, Russia), Andrej Komac (Nova Gorica),
Robert Koren (Lillestrom, Norway), Jalen Pokorn (Hapoel Nazareth
Elit, Israel), Simon Seslar (Celje), Goran Sukalo (SpVgg
Unterhaching, Germany).
Forwards: Milenko Acimovic (Lille, France), Zlatko Dedic
(Parma, Italy), Ermin Siljak (Dalian Shide, China).
