Soccer-Euro-We can go all the way to final - Greek players

By Karolos Grohmann

LISBON, June 25 - Greece believe they can go all
the way to the European Championship final after their stunning
1-0 victory over holders champions France in the quarter-finals
on Friday.

"Our aim now is the final, of course," assistant coach
Yannis Topalidis told reporters. "Now nothing is impossible any
more after this result."

In what was the biggest upset in European Championship
history, Greece knocked favourites France out of the tournament
to reach the semi-finals.

They became the first team to beat both champions and hosts
in the same European Championship following their 2-1 victory
over Portugal in the tournament's opening match.

"Of course, we are satisfied with this result but we want to
go to the final and for that we may need a bit of luck as well,"
Topalidis said.

Striker Angelos Haristeas who scored the winner against
France, believes the final is a now a real possibility, with the
Czech Republic or Denmark standing in the way.

"I believe at this stage this is a great opportunity and
since we have fought hard and played as a team in all the
(previous) games why not go all the way?," he said.
