HAMMOND, La. -- Reliever Mike Snapp established a Southland
Conference career saves record as he shut the door on a Texas State
rally to help the Texas-Arlington Mavericks to a 9-7 win in the
final game of day one Wednesday the Southland Conference baseball
tournament.

Snapp, who picked up his 12th save of the season and the 23rd of
his career, came in with UTA (32-24) up two and Bobcats (32-25) on
first and second with no outs in the bottom of the eighth. He
retired the next six batters to secure the win.

Tom Robbins (8-6) started and took the loss for Texas State.

Dillon Farish (1-1) gave up one hit in 2 1/3 innings to get the
win.

UTA advances to take on Northwestern State at 7 p.m. Thursday
while Texas State will face Lamar at 3 p.m.
