Singh, Huston share one-shot lead

HUMBLE, Texas -- Vijay Singh and John Huston shared a
one-shot lead heading into Monday's final round of the Shell
Houston Open after the rain-delayed third round was finished.

Huston completed his 5-under 67 in the third round Monday
morning, and he and Singh (69) were at 7-under 209 before heading
back out on the course.

Thunderstorms Sunday forced play to be suspended for a third
straight day at suburban Houston's Redstone Golf Club.

Joe Ogilvie bogeyed the 17th hole Monday to finish his third
round with a 68 and a three-round total of 210. That tied him for
third place with Jose Coceres, who also finished a 68 early Monday
before beginning the final round.

John Daly, Paul Azinger, Geoff Ogilvy and Scott Hoch were
another two shots back at 4 under. Daly's 67 matched Huston for the
low score of the round.

Hoch shot a 71 in the third round, while Azinger bogeyed No. 18
and settled for a 72. Ogilvy's bogey on the final hole gave him a
68.

Rory Sabbatini and Stephen Ames, each with a third-round 69,
were next at 3 under, along with D.J. Brigman.

Only 15 players, about one-fifth of the field, were able to
complete their third round Sunday. The third round was halted by
thunderstorms Saturday.

The course was under water after several hours of more heavy
rain Sunday. Skies were partly sunny Monday with no apparent threat
of rain.

Singh, the world's second-ranked golfer, won this event two
years ago. After opening with a 2-over 74, his second-round 66
equaled the low round of the tournament and was the best of the
second round.

Huston most recently won last fall at the Southern Farm Bureau
Classic, his seventh victory on the PGA Tour.

The last time a tour event finished on a Monday because of
weather problems was in September at the John Deere Classic in
Illinois.
