Rebellin wins Liege-Bastogne Liege classic

LIEGE, Belgium -- Italy's Davide Rebellin won the
Liege-Bastogne-Liege cycling race in a sprint finish Sunday, giving
him the lead in the World Cup standings.

Michael Boogerd of the Netherlands was five seconds behind along
with third-place finisher Alexander Vinokourov of Kazakhstan.

Rebellin also won the Amstel Gold race last week ahead of
Boogerd.

Rebellin's victory in the oldest one-day classic on the cycling
calendar gives him 200 points in the standings. Boogerd has 146.

Liege-Bastogne-Liege was first raced in 1892. It is one of the
five biggest one-day races with Milan-San Remo, the Ronde of
Flanders, Paris-Roubaix and the season-ending Tour of Lombardy.
