Corporate lawyer named Ravens president

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Dick Cass has been appointed president
of the Baltimore Ravens after helping to broker Steve Bisciotti's
purchase of the team.

Cass, a Washington-based corporate lawyer, also represented
Jerry Jones in his acquisition of the Dallas Cowboys in 1989 and
has worked for the NFL on various deals.

Bisciotti bought 49 percent of the Ravens five years ago. He
officially became the majority owner last week by transferring $325
million to Art Modell, who had run the franchise for 43 years. Cass
replaces Modell's son David as team president.

Modell, 78, will retain a 1 percent ownership stake and will
have an office next to Bisciotti's in the Ravens' training complex.
