Waleskowski's 16 lead the Flyers

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -- Keith Waleskowski scored 16 points --
including five in a late 7-0 run -- to lead the Flyers to a 69-56
win over Duquesne on Thursday night in an Atlantic-10 quarterfinal.

The Flyers (23-7) scored their final 12 points on free throws.

Their final field goal came on Waleskowski's offbalance tip-in
Mark Jones' shot with 4:20 left. It touched off a 7-0 Dayton run
after the Dukes had scored six points in a row to narrow the lead
to 55-53.

Dayton moves into a Friday night semifinal where it will meet
the winner of Richmond (19-11) and Temple (15-12).

Jones added 13 points, Warren Williams came off the bench to
score 12 and Sean Finn had 11 -- despite making just 1 of 8 foul
shots.

Waleskowski had 10 rebounds as the Flyers took a 39-30 advantage
on the boards.

Jimmy Tricco scored 16 for Duquesne (12-17) with Jack Higgins
adding 12.

After Waleskowski's tip-in, he hit two free throws to push the
lead to 59-53. Jones then added two foul shots and Waleskowski hit
another to put Dayton ahead 62-53 with 1:47 left.

The Flyers hit 12 of 16 free throws in the final 4 minutes after
Waleskowski's tip-in. They finished the game 17 of 28 at the line
to the Dukes' 9 of 16.

Dayton hit 54 percent of its shots from the field in the opening
half yet still led just 29-28 on Ramod Marshall's end-to-end dash
for a layup just before the horn.

The Flyers took the lead for good on Williams' 3-pointer from
the right wing with 8:46 remaining.

The Flyers had won both earlier meetings, 70-58 at home and
73-69 in Pittsburgh.
