MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) -- Fred Peete scored 20 points to lead
Kansas State to an 88-69 win over Division II Pittsburg State in an
exhibition game on Thursday night.

Jeremiah Massey had 17 points and nine rebounds for Kansas
State, while Marques Hayden, who missed the Wildcats' other
exhibition game for disciplinary reasons, had 10 points and 10
rebounds.

Pittsburg State stayed close in the first half by going 8-of-16
from 3-point range. Peete, who missed Kansas State's first
exhibition with a back injury, had a steal and breakaway layup with
9 seconds left in the half to give the Wildcats their biggest lead,
46-40.

Eddie Jackson led Pittsburg State with 16 points, all in the
first half.

Kansas State opens its regular season Nov. 19 against North
Dakota State.
