Thomas rewarded for 'hard work and devotion'

NEW YORK -- Kurt Thomas signed a multiyear contract
extension with the New York Knicks on Tuesday.

The eight-year veteran, who plays center and forward, has
averaged 11.2 points and 7.4 rebounds in six seasons with the
Knicks. He is averaging 14.3 points and a team-leading 8.5 rebounds
for New York, which was 29-35 going into Tuesday night's game
against Boston.

"Rewarding Kurt for his hard work and devotion to the
organization is the reason we have given him this extension," said
Knicks' president of basketball operations Isiah Thomas.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
