STORRS, Conn. -- Top-ranked Connecticut won its 11th
straight Big East regular-season title with a 79-38 victory
Wednesday night over woeful Providence.

Ann Strother had 10 points, Jessica Moore added 10 rebounds and
Diana Taurasi had a season-high 10 assists for the Huskies, playing
for the first time since regaining their No. 1 spot this week.

Connecticut (23-2, 13-1) made its 12th straight victory an easy
one with an early 30-0 run that featured five 3-pointers and
76-percent shooting.

The Friars (4-21, 0-14), were held scoreless for nearly 13
minutes in their 14th straight defeat.

UConn coach Geno Auriemma emptied his bench in the first half,
and all 12 Huskies players scored.<

AUSTIN, Texas -- Jamie Carey hit two 3-pointers for Texas in
the second overtime to keep the nation's longest home winning
streak intact.

Heather Schreiber scored 20 points for Texas (24-3, 12-2 Big 12)
and Stacy Stephens had 15 points and 22 rebounds. Texas has won 33
in a row at home.

Sophia Young had 18 points and 15 rebounds for Baylor (20-7,

NORMAN, Okla. -- Dionnah Jackson matched a career high with
23 points to lead Oklahoma to a sweep of the season series with
Texas Tech.

The Sooners (18-7, 8-6 Big 12) have won five of their last six

Texas Tech (23-5, 9-5), coming off a 73-68 upset of then-No. 1
Texas on Sunday, shot just 31 percent. Freshman guard Alesha
Robertson led the Lady Raiders against the Sooners with 12 points.<

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Kendra Wecker had 20 points and 11
rebounds, and Kansas State got its ninth straight victory.

The Wildcats (22-3, 13-1 Big 12) started the second half with an
18-2 run to an insurmountable 49-24 lead en route to their 31st
straight regular-season victory at home.

Katie Robinette led Iowa State (13-12, 6-8) with 20 points.<

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Jacqueline Batteast had 23 points and 10
rebounds, and Notre Dame forced Miami into a season-high 37
turnovers.

Notre Dame (18-8, 11-3 Big East), which stretched its home
winning streak to 17 games, clinched a first-round bye in the
conference tournament with its best offensive showing since a
107-65 win over Cleveland State last season.

Tamara James led the Hurricanes (20-5, 9-5) with 17 points.<
