Gomez had two goals and three assists to match his career high
for points. He had five assists in a 6-0 pounding of the New
York Islanders on March 30, 2003. "They are playing really well
defensively, also," G Martin Brodeur said of Gomez, Gionta and Elias.
"They are getting more ice time because they are playing the
combination of both offense and defense. They are quick on the puck
all the time and create turnovers. They came out with a lot of
sparks today." ... Elias had two goals and two assists, giving him
10 goals and 30 assists in 35 career games against the Rangers.
