Butler taken to hospital for X-rays on bruised back

MIAMI -- Miami forward Caron Butler was take to a hospital
Tuesday night for X-rays after he bruised his lower back on a
flagrant foul early in the third quarter of the Heat's 98-83 loss
to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Butler was fouled hard under the basket by the Lakers' Kareem
Rush with 10:30 remaining in the third quarter. He remained in the
game for four more minutes, before leaving for good.

Team spokesman Tim Donovan said Butler was taken to Doctors
Hospital in Miami and would not travel with the team for its game
at Orlando on Wednesday night.

Results of Butler's X-rays were not expected before Wednesday,
Donovan said.

Butler, who was originally listed as doubtful for Tuesday's game
because of an elbow injury, decided to play shortly before tipoff.

shooting just 1-for-7 from the field.
