Thrashers place defenseman Tamer on injured reserve

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Thrashers placed defenseman Chris
Tamer on the injured list Wednesday and recalled forward Kamil
Piros from Chicago of the AHL.

Tamer, one of three original Thrashers still with the team, has
missed four games because of a sore back. He has two goals and four
assists in 37 games this season.

Piros was reassigned to Chicago on Nov. 1 after recording one
assist in 11 games with the Thrashers. He has seven goals and 12
assists in 32 games with the Wolves.

Tamer has 21 goals and 63 assists in 643 NHL games with
Pittsburgh, the New York Rangers and Atlanta. He was selected by
the Thrashers in the 1999 expansion draft.
