Tony Kanaan

2003 recap
The good: Led 79 laps at Phoenix in earning first IRL victory for himself and team owner Michael Andretti. Finished second at Texas, Pikes Peak and St. Louis. Third at Indy and California.

The bad: Leading Motegi when knocked into wall by Scott Dixon -- suffering broken arm and puncture wounds.

Key stat: Captured three pole positions.

2004 outlook
What needs to be done: Just a little more power from Honda. This 28-year-old Brazilian was tough early on but couldn't keep up with Toyota and Chevworth at the end.

Key change: CART veteran adapted effortlessly to all ovals and wound up fourth in points.

Prediction: Knows the cars and tracks this time around and will be in the hunt for the title again.
