Wyoming loses for 13th straight time to Buffaloes

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) -- Tera Bjorklund had 16 points and six
rebounds to lead No. 13 Colorado to its sixth straight victory,
71-39 over Wyoming on Sunday.

Kate Fagan added 11 points, hitting three 3-pointers, for
Colorado (9-1). The Buffalos defeated Wyoming for the 13th
consecutive time.

Ashley Elliot led Wyoming (1-7) with 12 points. Kristen Lenhardt
had 10 points and the Cowgirls, who last beat Colorado on Dec. 13,
1989, shot a dismal 29 percent.

Bjorklund played only 12 minutes in the second half and scored
five points early in the period as Colorado maintained a 29-point
lead. With the Buffaloes sitting down most of their starters and
Elliott sinking two 3-pointers and scoring 11 points for Wyoming,
the Cowgirls got as close as 53-27 with 11:15 left.

Fagan had nine points with three 3-pointers and Colorado shot 55
percent in building a 43-12 lead by halftime. Wyoming was 5-for-24
shooting in the first period and managed only a 3-pointer by
Lenhardt in the first eight minutes.
