SUNRISE, Florida (Ticker) -- The Montreal Canadiens continue a
three-game road trip Friday night when they face the Florida
Panthers.
Montreal is 4-1-2 in its last seven games and 6-3-2-1 in its
last 12. The Canadiens also are unbeaten in their last four
road games (3-0-1).
The Canadiens began this trip with Wednesday's 2-1 win over the
New York Rangers. Jan Bulis scored the game-winner in the third
period and assisted on Mike Ribiero's first-period tally.
Jose Theodore made 28 saves and is 3-0-2 in his last five
decisions.
Florida is trying to snap a season-high six-game winless streak.
The Panthers are 0-2-1-3 in their last six and 0-2-1-1 in their
last four home contests after Wednesday's 1-1 tie with the
Boston Bruins.
Valeri Bure scored in the first period but the Panthers blew a
third-period lead for the second straight game. The Panthers
were 0-for-5 on the power play, managing only one shot.
The Panthers have scored 11 goals during this skid, which
started when they blew a 3-1 lead and settled for a 3-3 tie with
the Rangers on November 26.
In the first meeting of the season, Viktor Kozlov scored with 72
seconds remaining to lift the Panthers into a 1-1 tie at
Montreal on November 29.
