Sixers activate F Glenn Robinson, sign F Hamilton

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia 76ers welcomed back one
of their walking wounded on Wednesday, activating forward Glenn
Robinson from the injured list.

Acquired in the offseason to provide scoring punch alongside
Allen Iverson, Robinson has played just four games this season,
averaging 15.5 points. He has missed 18 games, three for an NBA
suspension and 15 with a left ankle sprain that landed him on
the injured list on November 25.

A two-time All-Star, he has averaged 21.1 points and 6.2
rebounds in 641 games with Milwaukee, Atlanta and Philadelphia.

The Sixers opened a roster spot by placing rookie guard Willie
Green on the injured list with a sprained right thumb that
required surgery on December 6.

Philadelphia also signed forward Zendon Hamilton, who was with
the Golden State Warriors in the preseason and most recently
played for Yakima in the CBA.

In order to sign Hamilton, who becomes the 13th player on the
active roster, the Sixers were granted a hardship exception by
the NBA because of their injury situation.

The Sixers played without Iverson in Tuesday's 78-76 win at
Detroit due to a knee injury. Forward Marc Jackson is not on the
injured list, but is sidelined with a broken right finger.

Green has appeared in 15 games, averaging 1.9 points and 8.5
minutes.

A product of St. John's, Hamilton has played for Denver, Toronto
and the Los Angeles Clippers and has career averages of 5.7
points and 4.4 rebounds. Despite all their injuries, the Sixers
are in first place in the Atlantic Division with a 12-10 record.
