Comments on NHRA drivers

We spotlighted NHRA drivers Greg Anderson and Whit Bazemore. Here are your thoughts on their '03 campaigns and prospects for next season:

Anderson will continue to dominate. The team has superior technical expertise, good chemistry and a smart driver who doesn't mess up on the tree often. The performance of his car allows him to cut safe lights while his competition has to take chances. Jeg is a great driver, but I don't think they can make on the performance end.

I do not think it will be easy for him to repeat in this class. If you want a good race Pro Stock is it.

Greg Anderson by far dominated! I was there at E-Town when he ran that 6.67 in eliminations. When I got home I watched the tape. If he had not wiggled it might have been a 6.64! My point is Warren and the rest of the "Good Old Boys" of Pro Stock have a lot of work to do this offseason. Not only can Anderson drive, but he has the horsepower. And if anybody starts those rumors of him cheating -- they are just too sorry to admit that he is the man of the hour.

I think this will be Whit Bazemore's year. With all the changes at Force Racing and other teams, I think its going to be a long year for a lot of teams.

If this guy would only stop worrying about everybody else that he competes with and put on a "happy face" once in a while, maybe his luck would turn around. Ever since he's been on TV and been interviewed, he has always displayed a negative attitude and in my opinion is not the image the NHRA would like portrayed. Between Lee Beard and himself, they don't need any enemies.

Whit should just make it easy on himself and drive for John Force Racing. Maybe then he'll win a championship.

Baze certainly had the door open for him several times in '03, and they couldn't get through. DNQing late in the year was the straw that I think finally broke their back. I like Bazemore, and hopefully last year they gained some much needed experience about what it takes to win a championship, and they should be right in the thick of it next year. I will say they will need to be at their best for the entire season because John Force will come out swinging to put the No. 1 back on the side of his Mustang
