Manning has no damage in right elbow

INDIANAPOLIS -- Colts quarterback Peyton Manning is expected
to play Sunday against New England after an MRI on his right elbow
revealed no damage.

Doctors still advised Manning not to throw during Thursday's
practice, a day after Manning said he felt a "twinge" in the
elbow on his throwing arm.

Coach Tony Dungy said he expected Manning to throw Friday, and
he is listed as probable on the team's injury report.

"It was a good sign that the MRI was negative," Dungy said.
"We felt it was a very minor situation, but you always feel better
when you get it confirmed."

Manning declined comment after practice.

He hurt his arm Wednesday during a morning walkthrough and was
limited in practice Wednesday afternoon to protect his throwing
arm.

Manning is having the best season of his NFL career and is one
of the leading contenders for the MVP Award. He has never missed a
start in his six-year NFL career.

Brock Huard, the only other quarterback on the Colts' roster,
threw all of the passes in practice Thursday while Manning spent
the two-hour session working on his footwork, throwing motion and
talking to coaches.

Dungy said Wednesday he did not believe the injury was serious
and was relieved the MRI results confirmed that.

"Brock did get a heavy dose of throwing today," Dungy said.
"But we expect Peyton to be in good shape to do a little more
throwing tomorrow."
