Soccer games postponed in Turkey after bombings

NYON, Switzerland -- Two soccer games in Turkey were
postponed by the sport's European governing body Thursday because
of the series of terrorist bombings in Istanbul.

A Champions League game between Turkey's Galatasaray and Italy's
Juventus was moved from Tuesday to Dec. 2.

A UEFA Cup game between Israel's Maccabi Haifa and Spain's
Valencia that was to be played Nov. 27 in Izmir wasn't immediately
rescheduled. UEFA has banned games in Israel because of security
concerns.

Trucks packed with explosives blew up at a London-based bank and
the British consulate in Istanbul on Thursday, killing at least 26
people and wounding nearly 450. The worst terrorist bombings in
Turkey's history were blamed on al-Qaida.

On Saturday, 23 people died in bombings at two synagogues in
Istanbul, for which al-Qaida claimed responsibility.
