Soccer-Ronaldo asks Real president to sign Rivaldo - report

RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept 23 - Ronaldo has asked Real
Madrid president Florentino Perez to sign disgruntled Brazil
international Rivaldo from AC Milan, the Jornal do Brasil
newspaper said on Tuesday.

The report said that the two players spoke during Ronaldo's
27th birthday party in Madrid on Monday when Ronaldo promised to
do everything he could to persuade Perez to sign his team mate
from Brazil's 2002 World Cup winning side.

It added that the pair left the house for a game on
Ronaldo's private mini-golf course and that Ronaldo phoned Perez
to prove that he was serious.

"I'm going to talk to my president and Rivaldo will be happy
with us here at Real," the newspaper quoted Ronaldo as saying.

Rivaldo has been repeatedly left on the bench by AC Milan
coach Carlo Ancelotti and said in an interview published on
Monday that he felt he was being humiliated.

The Jornal do Brasil newspaper published photographs from
Ronaldo's birthday and listed other players who flew in,
including Ronaldo's AC Milan team mates Dida and Kaka.

A samba group led by Ronaldinho, who plays for Real's
arch-rivals Barcelona, provided the music.
