OF Seguignol, LHP Porzio take International League honors

DUBLIN, Ohio - Columbus Clippers first baseman Fernando
Seguignol and Charlotte Knights lefthander Mike Porzio on
Monday were named International League Player and Pitcher of the
Week, respectively.

Seguignol hit .538 (14-for-26) with six doubles, a pair of home
runs and 10 RBIs. He scored seven runs, posted a 1.000 slugging
percentage and hit in each of the seven games.

The 28-year-old, who was selected as Player of the Week on both
July 7 and July 28, went 3-for-4 with a two-run double in a 4-3
victory over the Indianapolis Indians on August 21. Three nights
later, Seguignol had a pair of RBIs doubles and a two-run homer
in an 8-6 triumph over the Toledo Mud Hens.

Porzio tossed eight shutout innings in a 5-0 win over the
Richmond Braves on August 21. He allowed two hits and three
walks and struck out six batters.

The 6-3, 200-pounder has allowed two runs or less in eight of
his last nine outings. Porzio, who was sent back down from
Chicago on July 26 after three starts with the White Sox, has
gone 8-6 with a 4.14 ERA in 24 games with the Knights.
