EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Todd Bouman and J.T.
O'Sullivan each passed for touchdowns in the second half as the
New Orleans Saints rallied for a 22-17 over the New York Jets in
a preseason matchup.
Saints starter Aaron Brooks completed 9-of-16 passes for 88
yards in the first half, but the Jets had a 7-3 edge at
halftime.
Bouman entered and gave the New Orleans the lead with a six-yard
touchdown pass to Boo Williams with 12:04 left in the third
quarter. New York reclaimed the lead on Doug Brien's 49-yard
field goal with just over six minutes to go.
Bouman completed 8-of-12 attempts for 79 yards before giving way
to O'Sullivan.
New Orleans took the lead for good at 15-10 on a one-yard plunge
by James Fenderson less than a minute into the fourth. The
Saints missed the two-point conversion, but O'Sullivan connected
with Curtis Keaton on a 23-yard TD with 7:17 remaining.
Deuce McAllister ran for 45 yards on 11 attempts for New
Orleans.
New York's Chad Pennington completed 14-of-20 passes for 141
yards. He threw a five-yard touchdown to Curtis Conway, who was
signed as a free agent in the offseason, in the first quarter.
