Ministers Wild Cat scratched

ARCADIA, Calif. -- Ministers Wild Cat was scratched from Saturday's $750,000 Santa Anita Derby because of a sore right hind foot, trainer Neil Drysdale said Saturday morning.

Ministers Wild Cat "galloped super" Friday morning, according to Drysdale, but had a sore foot when he was checked around noon.

Drysdale said Ministers Wild Cat could race as soon as next weekend. "He's nominated to the Blue Grass and Wood, everything," Drysdale said from his barn at Hollywood Park. "We'll see how he responds to treatment."

Ministers Wild Cat most recently finished second in the El Camino Real Derby at Bay Meadows.
