Mauresmo pulls out of tournament in Belgium

ANTWERP, Belgium -- Amelie Mauresmo pulled out of the
Diamond Games after she injured her thigh during her loss to Serena
Williams in the Gaz de France final Sunday.

Mauresmo returned to competition after being sidelined for 16
weeks by a knee operation and immediately reached the final of the
Paris event, losing 6-3, 6-2 to world No. 1 Williams.

Organizers of the $585,000 WTA event in Antwerp said the world's
sixth-ranked player decided to withdraw at the last
moment. No details of her thigh injury were immediately available.

Venus Williams is the top seed at the Diamond Games.
