SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Phoenix Coyotes defenseman Todd Simpson
is out 2-to-3 weeks with a broken right hand. Simpson was injured fighting Dallas' Manny Malhotra on Saturday. The Coyotes also recalled forwards Jeff Taffe and Darcy
Hordichuk from Springfield on Monday and sent center Jason Jaspers
to the American Hockey League team. Taffe had two assists in two games with Springfield. He has
never played in an NHL game, but scored two power-play goals for
the Coyotes in six exhibition games. Hordichuk had no points in two
games with Springfield.
