CARSON, Calif. -- The Los Angeles Galaxy acquired midfielder Joe Franchino from the New England Revolution on Friday for a second-round pick in 2009.
Franchino began his career with the Galaxy in 1998 and spent 2.5 years with them before joining the Revolution midway through the 2000 season. He has five goals and 23 assists in 211 regular-season games and 25 postseason games.
To make room for Franchino, the Galaxy moved defender Michael Gavin to their developmental roster as a senior developmental player.
