CLERMONT, Ind. -- Frank Kimmel snapped a 75-race ARCA Racing Series winless streak dating to 2008, racing to his 75th series victory Friday night at Lucas Oil Raceway.

The 50-year-old Indiana driver, a record nine-time series champion, pulled away off a restart with three laps left on the 0.686-mile track. He moved within four of tying Iggy Katona for the ARCA victory mark.

"What a great night," Kimmel said. "What a great car."

Tom Hessert was second, followed by Kevin Swindell, Brennan Poole and Mason Mitchell. Points leader Chris Buescher finished seventh.

Kimmel took the lead on the 158th lap and held on for his first victory with ThorSport Racing.

"It's hard to get here some times," Kimmel said. "I've got to thank this team and sponsors Ansell and Menards. I'd like to take a lot of that credit, but we had a good handling race car. I could turn and cut into traffic and run into the flat, whatever I needed at the end. That made the difference. This is a hard place to drive around and a really hard place to pass people. That's what makes it special."
