AutoRacing

DETROIT -- Eli Tomac raced to his second AMA Supercross victory of season Saturday night, easily holding off series leader Ryan Dungey in the 450SX Class event at Ford Field.

"I have had so many up-and-down races this year, but I was able to put it together tonight," said Tomac, the Honda rider who also won this year in Phoenix.

Tomac took the lead on the fourth of 20 laps and beat Dungey by 11.89 seconds.

Dungey, a five-time winner this season, has a 67-point lead over Trey Canard with five races left. Canard crashed in qualifying and didn't race in the main event.

"I got a good start tonight," Dungey said. "He (Tomac) made a pass to get by me, and it was a solid pass. He is a good, clean racer."

Honda's Justin Bogle won the Eastern Regional 250SX Class event for his first victory of the season, leading all 15 laps.

"The bike is a rocket ship and it got me off to a great start," Bogle said.

Marvin Musquin, a four-time winner in the first six races, was second for the second time this season. Musquin has a 13-point lead over Bogle with two races left.

"Once again, the start was key, and I didn't get the start I needed," Musquin said. "Second place isn't bad and I have the points lead, still."
