Force sisters top qualifying

SONOMA, Calif. -- Sisters Courtney and Brittany Force topped qualifying Friday night after the first two sessions in the NHRA Sonoma Nationals.

Courtney Force led the Funny Car field with a 4.045-second pass at 319.22 mph in a Ford Mustang, and Brittany Force took the Top Fuel lead with a 3.762 at 325.53.

The daughters of Funny Car star John Force each qualified No. 1 in Topeka, Kansas, this year in a first for sisters. Courtney Force went on to win at Topeka for the 100th female victory in NHRA history and won again last month in New Hampshire.

"It's always a good day for me if I'm paired up next to my dad and I can turn on a win light," Courtney Force said. "I don't care if it's Q1 or the final round, it just makes my day right there."

Jason Line topped the Pro Stock lineup, and John Hall led in Pro Stock Motorcycle.

Line had a 6.550 at 210.93 in a Chevy Camaro. He has two career victories at Sonoma.

Hall ran a 6.951 at 191.54 on a Buell.
