Scott Gomez was in San Jose on Saturday to meet with the Sharks about a possible fit with the organization, sources have told ESPN.com.
The veteran center, 33, became an unrestricted free agent this week after being bought out by the Montreal Canadiens.
Gomez will still be paid his pro-rated $4.5 million salary that the Habs owe him for this season, plus whatever deal he strikes with the Sharks, if indeed both sides decide to make a deal.
