LOS ANGELES -- Forward Dustin Penner has agreed to a one-year, $3.25 million contract to remain with the Los Angeles Kings.

Penner's deal was announced Sunday with the Stanley Cup champion Kings, who have retained every significant player from last season's run to their first NHL championship.

Penner is a two-time Stanley Cup champion who has been with the Kings since midway through the 2010-11 season. He struggled during the regular season last winter, managing just seven goals and 10 assists in 65 games, but emerged as a big contributor in the postseason on a line with Mike Richards and Jeff Carter.

Penner scored the series-winning overtime goal in the Western Conference finals against the Phoenix Coyotes, sending Los Angeles to just the second Stanley Cup finals in franchise history.
