Marian Hossa of Blackhawks out Friday with injury

Chicago Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa will have to wait a bit for goal No. 501 since he will be out Friday against the Columbus Blue Jackets with a lower-body injury.

Hossa became the 44th NHL player to reach 500 career goals Tuesday night in a 7-4 win over the Philadelphia Flyers, but he left in the third period after blocking a shot. Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said that Hossa may return Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Hossa, who signed a 12-year, $62.8 million contract with Chicago in July 2009, is beginning his eighth season with the Blackhawks. The rugged winger, long one of the NHL's best two-way players, helped the Blackhawks to Stanley Cup titles in 2010, 2013 and 2015.

Quenneville also said on Thursday that Corey Crawford will start in net for the Blackhawks Friday.
