The Montreal Canadiens provided some long-term security to their newest trade acquisition Monday, signing Andrew Shaw to a six-year contract, the club announced. Sources say the deal is worth an average of $3.9 million per season. It does not include a no-trade or no-move clause. Shaw, who turns 25 on July 20, was acquired Friday night before the first round of the NHL draft from the Chicago Blackhawks. He was a restricted free agent, and the salary-cap-challenged Blackhawks were unable to re-sign him, prompting the trade.
