Ducks switch goalies to Frederik Andersen for Game 3 vs. Predators

NHL, Anaheim Ducks, Nashville Predators

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Goaltender Frederik Andersen will start Game 3 for Anaheim with the Ducks trailing 0-2 in their opening series with the Nashville Predators, coach Bruce Boudreau said Tuesday.

Boudreau said the change is being made in hopes of getting the Ducks to play better rather than as a reflection on rookie John Gibson, who is 0-2 with a 3.08 goals-against average and .900 save percentage through the first two games.

Game 3 of the best-of-seven series is Tuesday night.

Andersen played 43 games during the regular season; Gibson appeared in 40.

Ducks center Shawn Horcoff will also make his playoff debut, as Boudreau said he's trying to get more experience on the ice.
