Four NHL trades that should have been made

A busy week led up to Monday's very quiet deadline day, which ultimately resulted in only 19 trades involving 37 players. Many big names stayed put, including Loui Eriksson of the Boston Bruins and Jonathan Drouin of the Tampa Bay Lightning, and certain players landed in destinations that didn't maximize their impact down the stretch and into the playoffs.

As a complement to traditional analysis, hockey analytics can help identify the strengths and weaknesses of players and teams in an objective fashion, and then find the moves that have the best fit. This year, some players didn't wind up in their ideal destinations, while others that would have been perfect additions to certain contenders didn't move at all.
