It only took Washington Capitals winger Alex Ovechkin until age 30 to become the NHL's top Russian goal scorer of all time. Ovechkin passed Sergei Fedorov for the No. 1 spot by scoring his 484th career goal on Nov. 20 against the Dallas Stars.
While his accomplishment was widely celebrated, the superstar scorer's numbers suggest that he is more than just the best Russian goal scorer. A closer look reveals that Ovechkin could simply be the greatest goal scorer in NHL history.
