Penguins' Pascal Dupuis taken to hospital as precaution

EDMONTON, Alberta -- Pittsburgh Penguins forward Pascal Dupuis was taken to a hospital Friday for precautionary reasons after he experienced symptoms that might be related to his history of blood clots.

The 36-year-old Dupuis was diagnosed with blood clots last year and missed the rest of the season.

"We've said all along that Pascal's health is the highest priority," general manager Jim Rutherford said before the Penguins' game against the Oilers. "We will take every precaution necessary to ensure he is in good health."

Dupuis has one goal in six games this season.
